This class is designed for those workers who participate in activities that relate to hazardous materials or hazardous waste clean-up sites, TSD facilities (Treatment, storage, disposal), and emergency response. It is required by OSHA 1910.120 for any employees participating in these types of activities that have the potential to expose them to levels above the PEL (permissible Exposure Limit). This class is designed to cover all the requirements of OSHA 1910.120 standard and engage the student in various skills using personal protective equipment. The class will involve various lectures and hands-on scenarios and require the students to utilize equipment in all levels of personal protective equipment in order to prepare them for dealing with the difficulties when working with PPE on. The skills performed will be based on the needs of the students attending and enable them the opportunity to learn and practice the same way they would be working in the field.
